How much technical work does this create for us?

We design the reception feed and guide the setup. Your IT team or integrator connects the on-site appliance, confirms network settings, and tests a few reference TVs with us. A prepared network keeps the on-site work short.

Do we need new switches or a new network?

Not necessarily. A managed network with enough capacity and multicast support may only need configuration. We check switch capability, IGMP settings, routing where needed, and the link before recommending any upgrade.

Do we have to replace our in-room IPTV system?

Usually not if the platform can ingest the feed format. Satline sits upstream of the hospitality system. Your integrator confirms how channels enter that system, then your existing menus, casting, PMS integrations, and room controls can continue to work as designed.

Our rooftop dish works well, so why switch?

You may not need to. Satline is most valuable when the dish is expensive to service, replacement is restricted, more satellite sources are needed, or a group wants to standardise reception across properties. We compare those costs and needs with your current setup before proposing a change.

What happens if the internet connection goes down?

The off-site live feed needs a working link to the property. Where TV continuity is important, we can design around a second connection; some hotels also retain a small local fallback dish for priority channels. We agree on the resilience approach during design.

How is the feed delivered technically?

Satellite reception and processing happen off site. Channel streams reach the hotel over TCP unicast, and the on-site appliance distributes them as multicast IPTV over the LAN. The internet link carries each selected channel once; switches replicate it only to rooms watching it. A 50 to 150 channel lineup may need roughly 300 to 600 Mbps of inbound capacity, depending on bitrate and selection. We calculate the actual requirement for your lineup. The appliance can also host local VOD and selected recordings.

Who arranges channel rights?

The hotel selects its lineup and secures the rights needed to show those channels to guests. Satline supplies the reception and delivery infrastructure, not programme licences.

How are the service and equipment priced?

We quote the reception capacity, on-site appliance, setup, and support as a project matched to your property or portfolio. Our business server services are normally billed monthly, and the order sets the hotel solution price and terms. Ask our team for a proposal based on your rooms, channel mix, and network.
